The cliffs are saturated with groundwater runoff. Water drips down everywhere. The base of the cliffs are covered in moss and associated plant life.
In some spots the moss positively glows in the low light.
Yet the pattern remains if one chooses to look closely enough. Beauty is like a woman - you have to peel the layers away to reveal the inner garden.
