Spring : Spring 13 : Beaver Mom

A large bow-wave came out from the back of the lagoon. It was coming straight at me. Was it a snapping turtle emerging? No, it was Mom. Wah, she was huge - at least 60 pounds, soaking wet. No goose would mess with her. Such beavers have been known to put the run on many a human who ventured too close to her offspring or pissed her off in any number of other ways. "I am a tree," I thought, in Zen concentration.

Umm, beavers chew through trunks the size of your legs, you know.
