Despite the mesmerizing dance of the hummingbirds, my eye was suddenly drawn to the artistic work of a stray sunbeam. It slanted through the dining room window onto my still-empty breakfast plate. The light twisted into colorful streaks but the source of the prismatic effect remained elusive.
