I wandered down to the river edge. The undergrowth was remarkably free of voracious biting insects. They were around but they left me alone. Maybe they find the smell of Warfarin in my blood unpalatable. I liked the look of these fiddleheads. They are inedible because it would take forever to wash the sand out of them.
