Despite the heavy snow, the temperature was moderating quite rapidly an things were beginning to thaw. Like a glacier, the roof snow pack had begun to slowly come down, curling as it left the roof's support. We expected it to calf off like an iceberg at any moment but it just hung there. We tried poking it with broom handles. No way. We couldn't budge it even though we could poke holes through it. It was still there when we left three days later.
